Of late a theme keeps showing up - design. As I commute, architects are being interviewed on the radio, asked to comment on design. One point in particular stimulated some reflection on my part.
"Our current struggles are the result of poor design choices in the past."
We are the architects of our lives once we get to an age of making all our own choices. We do not always know how our choices will influence our future when we are making them. When we choose to date a particular person, we do not always know if we will end up married with a family with this person or divorced from this person wondering about the other person we gave up for this ex. Or never married.
It doesn't mean you have absolute control of how choices unfold... things happen. I have a neighbour with twins... not planned. But that just puts you in the position of other choices.
